Collaborations and breakthrough ideas from diverse creative professionals...

What would happen if Gamil Design was surrounded by other creative professionals and firms - all of non-competing strengths - to bounce ideas around, be inspired by, and learn from each other? That question led us to the beginning of "Designbox."

DesignBox is a gathering place and sometimes office space for great creative talent from a variety of design disciplines like graphic design, product design, architecture, landscape architecture, interior design, illustration, copywriting, marketing strategy, etc. All involved people are members who went through an application process to determine design strengths, collaborative possibilities, and creative openness. Some members' offices are in the Designbox space (like Gamil). Others have offices elsewhere and just come together for creative sessions.

We meet each week to discuss each others projects, to gather new ideas, and to refine and critique existing ones. We explore new methods of idea generation, new materials and processes, and learn about and define the latest trends. Then we let those explorations from each of the different disciplines bleed throughout everything, giving each designer new and fresh inspiration.

We can also offer brainstorming and creative services to clients as a whole or partial group. Depending on the design problem of the client, getting fresh and varied perspectives can break down that stumbling block the client may have been having.

As a part of the Designbox space, we open our doors late on First Fridays to promote art, design and collaboration. We support what is becoming a Raleigh tradition of the First Friday Art Walk, and are continually impressed by the great art going on in Raleigh.
