Music Club Calendar Site

Gamil was hired to be part of the team to create the new Kings & Neptunes sites. We worked with Raleigh designer Maura Dillon, to create an easy to navigate and update content management site using Wordpress. King’s site features a powerful calendar application that lists the upcoming shows chronologically and enables Kings to have the ability to sell tickets through etix on the site. Neptunes’ website, sister business of Kings, is a one page website using a similar theme template that is also updated through a Wordpress system. The Neptunes’ site dynamically pulls in different streams of content into the homepage to allow the reader to see all the information they need without having to click through subpages.

Outdoor Compasses

Gamil worked with The Outdoor Recreation Group to develop 4 different compasses for their 2011 product line.

Art Non-Profit Website

Visual Art Exchange (VAE) is a Raleigh based non-profit supports and educates professional, emerging and student artists. They hired Gamil to do a complete revamp of their website/online presence. Through the process of making the website easier to navigate and more engaging, Gamil began the process of establishing a new look & feel for their “brand.” Over the past few years VAE has grown tremendously, and they wanted that to be reflected in their site. To accomplish this, Gamil utilized Wordpress as a content management system to allow VAE to easily update their site with content, as well as google calendars to stream relevant upcoming events to different pages on the site.

Filtration Squeeze Bottle

This bottle has a carbon filter stystem, that allows the user to “clean” their already sterilized water before drinking. The filter reduces industrial pollutants (ex, Benzene, MTBE), improves taste of the water, and reduces toxic heavy metals. Gamil designed the bottle to have a comfortable-to-hold texture on the outside, and a tether for ease of carrying while hiking or camping.

Grand Opening Gala Production

Gamil was asked to coordinate & produce the entertainment for the VIP opening Gala at the Contemporary Art Museum (CAM) in Raleigh. We titled the “show” CAM-A-DADA, and brought a curious and strange aspect to the black-tie affair. The production included an emoticon protest, theramin, flashmob/dance troupe, acrobatics, as well as LED and Bubble performances. Producing the show allowed us to work with some of our favorite local people including: Acroentertainment and talent coordination by Katie Bouterse and Kaci Torres, Ringmasters, Emoticon Protest Grand Marshalls, and stunning inspiration: Thunder and Junebug, Theramin and live looping provided by Billy Sugarfix, LED hoop performance by Mindy, LED Sword and Poi by Phoenix and GUMMYLUV, and Bubble Art by Caroleeena.

NCSEA Rebranding

When Gamil was hired to redesign the NC Sustainable Energy Association (NCSEA) website, the client also wanted a refresher to their logo. NCSEA’s old logo was problematic for them because of it’s large height compared to the text, and the inability to make it a sharp looking 1-color version. Gamil was able to consolidate the elements in the logo (representative of wind, solar, hydro, biofuel) into a easier to use, yet still recognizable 4-color and 1-color versions.

Non-Profit Website

Gamil and Third Party Labs teamed up to create a content managed website for NC Sustainable Energy Association. NCSEA is a membership organization, that is committed to sustainable and renewable energy solutions, through education, public policy, and economic development. The website is built with Carbon CMS a platform specific to Third Party Labs that is able to handle large amounts of content. One of the main features of the site is the Business Directory which enables a user to search and find local businesses that offer expertise in a variety of sustainable energy fields.

Self-Mailer Annual Report

The NC Conservation Network (NCCN) hired Gamil for the second year in a row to design their Annual Report piece. This year’s report, like last year’s, features North Carolina photography and updates about NCCN’s 2010 programs and happenings in a self-mailer format. The report was printed on Enviro100 (100% Post Consumer Recycled Fibers, 100% Chlorine Free, FSC Certified) paper, and Gamil collaborated with Barefoot Press to ensure that paper waste due to printing was at an absolute minimum.
